Garth Crooks has praised Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on BBC Sport for his performance for Antonio Conte’s side against Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this weekend.

The former Tottenham forward has included Hojbjerg in his BBC Premier League Team of the Week for his display against Fulham in the London derby.

The 27-year-old Denmark international midfielder scored for Tottenham in the 40th minute.

Hojbjerg, who cost Tottenham £15 million in transfer fees in the summer of 2020 (Sky Sports), played well in the game and was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park.

Garth Crooks on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham

Crooks wrote about Hojbjerg: “This wasn’t Tottenham’s greatest performance against Fulham and Hojbjerg is not one of Tottenham’s greatest players but both seem to be getting the job done.

The Danish midfielder’s goal was not just well taken but epitomised the grit Antonio Conte has added to this Tottenham outfit. Spurs sit third in the table, a point behind Arsenal, who are top.”

Important player for Spurs

In our opinion, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is one of the best and most important players in the Tottenham Hotspur team.

The 27-year-old is a very combative player who imposes himself in the middle of the park and is a force to be reckoned with.

Hojbjerg has a well-defined role in the Tottenham team, and although he is not one of the best footballers technically, he does get the job done.

Tottenham are a better team with Hojbjerg in it.
