Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson predicted the outcome of Thursday’s Premier League clash between the Eagles and the Gunners, when writing his regular prediction column for Sky Sports.

Palace have are currently in the midst of a resurgence under Roy Hodgson, and have not lost since November 5th – a run that has seen them climb up to 16th in the Premier League table, two points clear of the drop zone.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been on an inconsistent run of form that has seen them win three, draw three and lose one of their last seven outings.

Arsene Wenger’s men currently sit in sixth spot in the table, one point adrift of the Champions League places, although that could change later today, with both Liverpool and Tottenham in action.

Merson wrote his regular prediction column for Sky Sports, and explained why he envisages a lively encounter at Selhurst Park on Thursday night:

Roy Hodgson manager

“This will be a good game. You look at Arsenal against Liverpool and it was an entertaining game. But seriously, you are not going to win anything at all playing like that. I am going to go 3-2 to Arsenal though…”

A win for Palace could see them jump up to 12th in the table, whilst a victory for Arsenal could see them force their way into the top four, should results elsewhere go their way.
