Sam Byram sealed his switch to West Ham from Leeds on Wednesday.
Sam Byram has completed his move from Leeds United to West Ham, putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal.
His arrival at the Premier League side has fans excited, including actor and entertainer James Corden.
Now a Hollywood talk show host, Corden used Twitter to welcome Byram to the Hammers, expressing his excitement at seeing him play for the club, describing him as a great player.
West Ham beat off competition from Everton to clinch a deal for Byram, who won the Championship player of the month for December.
He had been at Leeds since coming through their academy, but over the last two-and-a-half seasons has played under six managers, in both midfield and defence, and a fresh start at a higher level clearly appealed.
Leeds had allowed his contract to run into the final few months, proving a terminal error in terms of keeping him at the club, leaving them with a choice of whether to cash in at a cut price fee, or lose him at the end of the season anyway, and risk being awarded an even lower amount at a tribunal.
