The skilful winger could be a superb signing for Liverpool this summer.
Reds boss Jürgen Klopp is desperate to bolster his attacking options at Anfield this summer, as he looks to build a squad capable of making a sustained challenge for major honours on all fronts this season.
The German will surely be placing priority on the addition of a technically gifted attacker, whose attributes fit into his system and aggressive, tenacious style of play.
With this in mind, Liverpool should consider making another move for Brazilian magician Bernard, who they targeted way back in 2013, according to the Daily Mail.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s Bernard in action
The 24-year-old eventually ended up moving to Shakhtar Donetsk, but with the mercurial winger’s deal with he Ukrainian outfit just one year away from expiring, now could be a good time for the Merseyside outfit to revisit their interest.
Standing at just under 5ft 5in tall, Bernard is reliant on his technical brilliance, and explosive pace over short distances. He is incredibly creative, and would offer the Reds an added layer to their attacking play.
In 128 appearances for Shakhtar, he has scored 18 goals and registered 31 assists. Now he has reached a mature age, he would surely be able to improve even further still on those numbers, especially when surrounded by stars such as Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Whilst Liverpool are not short of cash, the opportunity to steal Bernard for a bargain could prove to be an extremely attractive prospect for Klopp.
With just 12 months remaining on his deal with the Ukrainian champions, they will not want to risk losing him for nothing next year, so any kind of reasonable offer from the Merseyside outfit would surely be considered.
