Gary Neville has shared his thoughts on Sam Allardyce’s Leeds United facing Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the Premier League season, as they bid to survive relegation.

The Manchester United legend stated that he ‘enormously’ fancies Ryan Mason’s Tottenham to lose to Leeds United because of their abject away form, as he told Sky Sports Premier League (15/05/23 at 6:50 pm).

Not only have Tottenham not won on the road since January, but during their last three away matches, they have conceded inside the opening ten minutes.

Added to that, at St James’ Park, they were five down inside 20, three down inside 15 against Liverpool and they failed to even have a shot of any note on goal during the first 45 minutes at Villa Park.

If the Whites can take it to the final day of the campaign, then that Elland Road crowd is going to make life very difficult for Spurs and Neville is backing them to do the job.

“I think Leeds will fancy their chances enormously against Tottenham at home,” said Neville. “They can beat Tottenham at home.”

WILL LEEDS UNITED SURVIVE RELEGATION?

From Allardyce’s first two games in charge, he has managed a point, which is pretty acceptable given that his opponents were Manchester City and Newcastle United.

But, on Sunday, they travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United. If Leeds lose, and other results go against them, then they could be down before Tottenham visit town – Allardyce has been told to start Wilfried Gnonto.

So, from that perspective, they have to make sure it goes to the final day of the season, or else it will just sum up the quite frustrating, abject and morale-sapping season they have had.
