Reported Wolves and Everton target Hirving Lozano will soon be among ‘the top ten strikers in Europe’ according to Pachuca chief Andres Fassi, who tells ESPN that the Mexican should leave Napoli to fulfil his potential.
A matter of weeks ago, it seemed only a matter of time before the £34 million man was being thrown out of the Stadio San Paolo with his tail tucked firmly between his legs.
Lozano had endured a miserable debut season in Serie A and hit rock bottom when he was sent home from training by head coach Gennaro Gattuso, missing the subsequent Coppa Italia final as a result.
The Mexican international has recovered somewhat after having his professionalism so publicly questioned, scoring against both Hellas Verona and Genoa.
But, with just eight league starts under his belt for Napoli, it seems that a parting of the ways would be for the best when the summer transfer window opens.
And a man who knows Lozano better than most would be thrilled to see a former Pachuca talisman be handed a fresh start elsewhere.
“Hirving cannot be a player who is not in the starting line-up. If he is not going to be in the 11 starters then I think it is in his best interest to leave Napoli,” Fassi says.

“I think that the best thing would be to move and join another club which would value him much more – a club that understands the enormous talent that Lozano has.
“I have known him since he was 13 years old, I would like to say that in a couple of years he will be among the top 10 strikers in world football.
“And I say this without a doubt because he is a player who has everything, he has great speed, he has great intelligence, he scores when he has to score, he assists when he has to assist.
“He not a centre-forward, but he scores a lot of goals.”
Fassi is confident that Lozano, who scored 34 goals in 60 Eredivisie games to fire PSV to successive league titles, would thrive in the Premier League.
Just as well, given that there is no shortage of interest from England.
AreaNapoli claimed in June ago that Newcastle had reached out to his, Mino Raiola.
Il Mattino, meanwhile, reported back in March that a reunion with former Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti was on the cards at Everton, though a move to West Ham United cannot be discounted either with a £25 million bid on the table (AreaNapoli).
Wolves are also admirers (Calciomercato in March) with Lozano exactly the kind of speedy, inverted winger who should thrive alongside Raul Jimenez in Nuno’s 3-5-2 system.
