Brighton and Hove Albion battled back to claim a point against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, with midfielder Enock Mwepu scoring a superb goal.

This time last month, there had never been a Zambian goalscorer in the Premier League.

Collins Mbesuma and Emmanuel Mayuka had a bash on the South Coast with Portsmouth and Southampton respectively, but couldn’t find the net.

All of a sudden, there have now been two Zambian goalscorer in the Premier League.

Leicester City striker Patson Daka made history with his goal against Manchester United, and Mwepu has now followed up with a goal of his own.

Mwepu realises Liverpool dream

Liverpool were 2-0 up against Brighton and cruising. Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane had the Reds seemingly coasting.

Brighton just don’t stop playing their brand of football under Graham Potter though, and came back to draw 2-2.

Mwepu got the Seagulls back into the game, looping a stunning effort over Alisson and into the net.

Leandro Trossard later bagged the equaliser, but nobody was taking this moment away from Mwepu.

The £18million summer signing from Red Bull Salzburg has admitted that it has always been his dream to play and score at Anfield.

For a kid growing up in Zambia, that isn’t an easy dream to fulfil but Mwepu has done it – and he is clearly delighted.
