West Ham United loanee Enner Valencia has started in Everton’s last two matches.
Enner Valencia has told Everton’s official website that Ronald Koeman encouraged him to work hard in training to force his way in to the first-team.
Valencia struggled to make an impact in his initial few weeks at Everton, after signing on loan from West Ham United.
The Ecuadorian international looked off the pace in his first few appearances for the Toffees.
However, Valencia has started to prove his worth in recent weeks – with his energetic performances earning credit.
The loanee has been played from the start in Everton’s last two matches, and he is now hoping to fully establish his place in Koeman’s side’s first-team.
“I have waited for my chance and now I have started two games,” Valencia said.
“The manager said to me ‘work hard in training and you will get your chance to play’.
“I am waiting for my first goal with Everton, I hope it can come in the next game against Leicester.”
Valencia was given a standing ovation by some sections of the Goodison Park crowd, when he was taken off during the Merseyside derby in Everton’s most recent match.
The Toffees went on to lose 1-0 against Liverpool, meaning they are currently stuck in ninth place in the Premier League table.
