Paul Heckingbottom has admitted that Rangers have just made a quality signing in the form of Kemar Roofe, insisting that his former player will take the Scottish Premiership by storm.

With doubts over Alfredo Morelos’s future at Ibrox, Gerrard might need additional firepower and it appears as if he has found it with the English striker.
Roofe has joined the Gers in a £3.5 million deal from Anderlecht, following a three-year spell at Leeds United.
The 27-year-old briefly worked under Heckingbottom at Elland Road, and the former Whites boss, who also managed Hibernian last season, is ‘certain’ that his former player has what it takes to succeed in Glasgow.
He told The Scottish Sun: “He’s just a very good signing it, it’s as simple as that. It’s not a gamble, Gerrard and Rangers will know exactly what they are getting. Kemar’s so professional.
“It’s a great bit of business for Steven Gerrard. That’s a statement signing from Rangers, very impressive. I’m certain he’ll do well in Scotland, and the Rangers fans will love his approach.”
Heckingbottom is right – this could be a gem of a deal for Rangers.
Firstly, £3.5 million really isn’t that much money by virtue of the fact that he could score a lot of goals.
He scored 26 Championship goals in his last two years in England, from 55 starts in the league. It’s a very decent return and if he’s proven at that level, he could definitely do a job in the Premiership.
