What a response from Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.
There was talk about Mikel Arteta using the 20-year-old midfielder for the first time in the Gunners’ visit of Molde in the Europa League on Thursday.
And when Smith Rowe was omitted from the matchday squad there was a sense of disappointment among Arsenal fans.
According to The Daily Star, Arteta was going to include him, but the former Huddersfield Town loanee has just sent a clear message.
Less than 24 hours after that snub, Smith Rowe scored a brilliant double as Arsenal’s Under-23 side thumped Blackburn Rovers 6-0 on Friday.
The Gunners’ academy graduate couldn’t have really reacted better to his own disappointment over being left out.
And here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted to his brace on Twitter:
Arteta won’t be picking another Europa League squad until November 26 due to the international break.
Arsenal visit Norway for the reverse fixture with Molde on that occasion and if Smith Rowe – who has played Premier League football for the North Londoners, albeit not under the Spaniard – continues to impress for Steve Bould’s side between now and then he will surely earn his first senior game under Arteta.
