Brighton and Hove Albion, Leicester City, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United are reportedly keen on Saman Ghoddos.

Ostersund's forward Saman Ghoddos celebrates after scoring during the UEFA Europa League Group J football match between Zorya Lugansk and Ostersunds FK in Lviv on September 14, 2017.

Ostersund chairman Daniel Kindberg has told Fotbollskanalen that there is interest from English clubs in striker Saman Ghoddos amid links with five Premier League sides.

Ostersund have enjoyed a remarkable rise under English boss Graham Potter, as they have gone from being in the fourth tier of Swedish football in 2011 to the Europa League against Arsenal.

A 4-2 aggregate defeat against the Gunners means Ostersund have now exited Europe, but some of their players appear to have caught the eye of other clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The main name being linked with a move away from Ostersund is striker Saman Ghoddos, with the Iranian unsurprisingly catching the eye with his goal record in Sweden.

Ghoddos, 25, has racked up 31 goals in 70 games for Ostersund, and reports since his two-assist display against Arsenal on Thursday have suggested that he could be on the move.

ESPN report that five Premier League clubs – Brighton and Hove Albion, Leicester City, Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United – all had scouts watching Ghoddos against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Now, with Ghoddos potentially heading to England, Ostersund chairman Daniel Kindberg has confirmed to Fotbollskanalen that there is interest from English clubs in their star striker.

Kindberg noted that the clubs have all used intermediaries to register their interest, and whilst there are teams pursuing winger Ken Sema too, Ostersund aren’t panicking just yet.

“There is interest from several English clubs, several other clubs and even Spanish clubs, so there is a lot of interest,” said Kindberg. “However, they are not the clubs who we’ve heard from directly but instead representatives who talk. However, they know that our window is in July and August, so there is no panic for anyone.”

“It’s no wonder there’s interest, more natural. It would be strange if it were not so, while other players also attract interest. We know that many are interested in (Ken) Sema as well, but it has not been anything new, not to me anyway,” he added.
