A host of Premier League and Championship sides are weighing up a move for former Ajax youngster Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere on a free transfer, HITC Sport understands.

Versatile attacker Owusu-Sekyere is available on a free transfer after leaving Portuguese side Leixoes earlier this summer.

The 19-year-old cancelled his contract at Leixoes by mutual consent and he is now looking to fix himself with a new club.

Owusu-Sekyere came through the famed Ajax youth academy and played in the same youth teams as the likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Justin Kluivert.

The skilful forward was highly regarded at Ajax, but he failed to break into the first-team and left the Amsterdam Arena to join fellow Dutch side FC Twente in 2016.

After one season at FC Twente he left to join Leixoes in Portugal, but the teenager has struggled to fulfil his undoubted potential since leaving Ajax.

Owusu-Sekyere, who qualifies to play for the Netherlands and Ghana, has emerged on the radar of a number of Premier League and Championship clubs, and being a free agent means they can sign the player even though their transfer window is closed.
