The Tottenham Hotspur player is vital for both club and country.

The emergence of Danny Rose has been a joy to behold for Tottenham Hotspur fans.

From much maligned to universally hailed, the 26-year-old is now widely regarded as the best left-back in the country, and England’s latest match went a long way to proving just how important he is for the Three Lions.

When Rose was substituted in the 79th minute of England’s international friendly with Spain, Gareth Southgate’s men were 2-0 up and coasting to victory.

By the end of the match England had conceded twice, with both goals coming down the left side, leaving Tottenham fans to bemoan Rose’s absence.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and no one knows what would have happened if the Spurs man had remained on the pitch, but Spain’s late recovery does show that England were weaker for not having Rose on the field.

He is now vital for both club and country, and if he continues on his current trajectory he will go down as an all-time great for both.

Tottenham fans already love Rose and it is time England fans shared that feeling, because he really is one of the best players we have.
