Sarina Wiegman’s side had demolished Sweden in a 4-0 thrashing at Bramall Lane last week.
Of course, it just had to be Germany in the final but thankfully there was no penalty shootout as England snatched victory in extra-time.

Wiegman threw Ella Toone onto the pitch in the second half and within six minutes, that change paid dividends.
Manchester City’s Keira Walsh picked out an inch-perfect pass for Toone, who broke clear of the Germany back line before a beautiful dink over Merle Frohms.
England couldn’t hang onto that lead though as Lina Magull’s near-post finish brought Germany level.
Extra time arrived and fans will naturally have been fearing an England v Germany penalty shootout.
Instead, Chloe Kelly popped up with a close-range finish to send Wembley wild as England were crowned European champions.
For a packed Wembley to be celebrating a trophy win just feels like a monumental moment for women’s football and it’s only right that a stunning goal like Toone’s would light up the game.
The Manchester United talent has received praise from all corners after her sumptuous finish, with former England strikers Gary Lineker and Chris Sutton taking to Twitter to rave about a ‘beautiful’ and ‘brilliant’ finish.
Current England stars also offered their praise, with Declan Rice marvelling over Toone’s lob as well as Walsh’s defence-splitting pass.
Harry Kane told Toone to take a bow whilst Raheem Sterling marvelled over her composure, with the 22-year-old conjuring one of the moments of the tournament whilst helping England clinch silverware on a huge day at Wembley.
