England clash with Wales on Thursday in what is now a huge game for the two sides in Group B.

Wales meanwhile, started the tournament in the best manner possible, beating Slovakia 2-1 with Gareth Bale in fine form.
Another win would see them progressing to the knockout stages, while a loss for England would leave their chances of progression firmly in the balance.
But how did the two sides compare in their first tournament games? Oulala took a look at the stats to find out.
And as it transpired, England were by far the better team as they came out on top in seven key areas.
They played more successful passes, enjoyed a better pass completion and had a bigger share of the possession.
They also had more shots than the Welsh and a better take-on success rate, but their shot accuracy was far below the impressive 73% that Chris Coleman’s side managed.

Defensively they were also better, with a better tackle success rate and more clearances, although Wales were better when it came to interceptions.
Nonetheless, a domination of the stats by England, who will be hoping to continue that on Thursday and, more importantly, secure all three points.
