Everton forward Ademola Lookman has been linked with a move to Southampton in recent times, with Marco Silva not playing him regularly.

Everton attacker Ademola Lookman’s omission from England under-21’s squad for the upcoming European Championships gives him further reason to pursue a move away from Goodison Park this summer.

Lookman has played a key role for England at all youth levels, but his failure to push on at Everton this season has been costly.

The 21-year-old will play no part in the Young Lions’ campaign in Italy, and that may just give him further encouragement to depart Everton.

Lookman has seen many of his peers earn regular game time, even at lower levels, and be included in the England squad.

Lookman’s talent is unquestionable, but he has failed to really kick on at Everton this term.

Marco Silva has favoured other options, with the youngster making just three Premier League starts for Everton over the whole campaign.

Southampton are now said to be hoping to sign Lookman for £20 million, according to the Daily Mail, and the rapid attacker has extra motivation to push for the move now, making the Toffees’ task of keeping him look even tougher.
