Aston Villa are attempting to sign Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth, with Dean Smith keen to snap the defender up permanently.

England rugby star Jonathan Joseph has suggested on Instagram that Tyrone Mings has suggested he will sign for Aston Villa.

Mings and Joseph are good friends, and Villa fans were keen to get updates on the centre-back’s future, when the England rugby ace conducted a question and answer session on social media yesterday.

And Joseph’s information about Mings has gone down very well with Villa fans.

Villa are desperate to snap up Mings on a permanent transfer after his impressive loan spell with Dean Smith’s side.

The left-footed defender slotted into Villa’s central defence after joining in January and he was one of the stars of their season.

Mings was rock solid as Villa earned promotion through the play offs.

The claret and blues are thought to have money to spend, but face paying a sizeable fee for Mings now, with Bournemouth not giving the defender up easily.

The Telegraph have suggested that Villa will have to pay £15 million to sign the commanding defender permanently.
