England are into the semi-finals of Euro 2020 after beating Ukraine 4-0 on Saturday night, with Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson even getting himself on the scoresheet.
The Three Lions took an early lead through Harry Kane before running riot in the second half, with Harry Maguire adding a second, Kane grabbing the third and substitute Henderson heading home number four.
England now face Denmark at Wembley for a place in the final, and Henderson certainly showed Gareth Southgate that he is ready to play if needed.
Henderson’s impact for England
Liverpool ace Henderson came in the tournament injured, and had only played 45 minutes before last night’s game as Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips had nailed down the two starting midfield roles.
With England coasting and both midfielders on tournament bookings, Henderson was given a chance to shine and finally scored his first goal for the Three Lions.
Not only did Henderson find the net, but he also provided England with a positive option in midfield, distributing the ball a little longer and quicker at times, whilst the additional minutes in the legs can’t have hurt.

Fans rave about Henderson
We all know that Liverpool fans love Henderson, but he has now earned praise from England fans who don’t support the Reds.
Fans of Arsenal, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Everton and Tottenham all took to Twitter to hail Henderson, branding his cameo appearance ‘terrific’ and ‘superb’.
Others called him ‘top drawer’ and ‘quality’, with Henderson enjoying quite the night in Rome; whether he starts the semi-final for England remains to be seen…
