Aston Villa picked up a second straight win as they beat Fulham 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, prompting celebration from England cricketer Ian Bell.
New manager Steve Bruce claimed his first win in the job on Wednesday having beaten Reading 2-1, and he made it two in a row on Saturday.

It looked like Villa would play out a 0-0 draw with Fulham, before big-money summer signing Jonathan Kodjia showed why Villa splashed out to sign, acrobatically scoring to hand Villa all three points.
Villa are now up into 16th place in the Championship table, pulling five points clear of the drop zone and six points off the play-offs.
It’s fierce rivals Birmingham City up next for Villa, and after Saturday’s final whistle, England cricketer Ian Bell took to Twitter to react to the result, and look ahead to Sunday’s clash.

Bell, 34, is a lifelong Villa fan and he was clearly happy with the result as he took to Twitter to celebrate on Saturday evening.
Bell was delighted with two wins in two games, and then said to bring on Birmingham, with confidence now rising at Villa Park.

Bell even added that he will be at St. Andrews on Sunday, as he will be parading Warwickshire’s One Day Cup trophy at half time – and he’ll no doubt be hoping for a good result for Villa as they look for a third win in a row.
