Scott Sinclair has told The Scottish Sun that his former club Celtic will win against Steven Gerrard’s Rangers this weekend.
Celtic will take on Rangers at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
Sinclair was on the books of the Hoops from the summer of 2016 until January 2020, and won the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup on three occasions each.
Now playing for Preston North End in the Championship in England, the 31-year-old winger is looking forward to the match and has backed his former club Celtic to win the Old Firm derby against the Gers.
Sinclair told The Scottish Sun: “We’re playing Cardiff on Sunday, so I’ll be straight off the training ground to watch the game.
“It will be a quick exit for me! I’m looking forward to it. I’m not a Celtic player any more but I’m most certainly still a Celtic fan.”
The former Aston Villa winger added: “Celtic will win. They have great players who know what it takes.”
Exciting derby
Both Rangers and Celtic are in good form at the moment, and the Old Firm derby on Saturday promises to be a hugely exciting game of football.
The Gers are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 26 points from 10 matches, a point ahead of Celtic, who are currently second in the standings and have played nine games.
With no fans inside the stadium, it will be interesting to see how the two sets of players take to the occasion.
