The youngster is currently on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea, and shared the advice given to him by the Aston Villa captain.
Newly capped England international and Chelsea loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek spoke to reporters regarding his recent rise to prominence, and shared how Villans skipper John Terry has been giving him advice on his future, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
The 21-year-old is currently plying his trade in south London, after joining Crystal Palace on loan in the summer, and has impressed for the Eagles, making eight appearances in all competitions for Roy Hodgson’s side so far this season.
Loftus-Cheek has been rewarded for his fine displays with a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England team, and he really shone for the Three Lions in their friendly clash with Germany at Wembley on Friday night.
And the midfielder spoke to reporters, whilst away on duty with England, sharing how much of an influence his former teammate John Terry still has on his career, as quoted by the Evening Standard:
“John has been helping me a lot this season. He’s always been supportive of me and will continue to be so. I’ve bumped into him a few times and we’ve had a few chats about what it’s like at Aston Villa for him and he’s asking me how I’m doing. He’s always giving me advice. John has been telling me that I just have to keep my feet on the ground and keep working.”

Loftus-Cheek will return to the harsh reality of a relegation battle with Crystal Palace at the weekend with a home match against Everton, but for now he can enjoy himself with the national team, safe in the knowledge that he has someone of Terry’s ilk to call upon for advice if needed.
