Here is the latest news coming out of Anfield as the club continue their search for a centre-back with a new German name entering the list.
Waldemar Anton
Starting off the list is German defender Waldemar Anton. A new centre-back is set to be high on the list of priorites for Liverpool this summer.
With Joel Matip leaving on a free transfer, and Virgil Van Dijk not getting any younger, a new defensive option will be vital at Anfield.
Anton plays for Stuttgart who had a brilliant Bundesliga campaign last season and having already sign Wataru Endo from the German side, Anton could follow.
SportBild claims that Liverpool are one of a number of sides watching the German at Euro 2024.
Joe Gomez
As one centre-back potentially arrives at the club, another could depart with Joe Gomez continuing to be linked with a move away from Anfield.
Bayern Munich are reportedly one of the sides keen on the English defender and Gomez could be available for transfer this summer.
However, The Mirror claim that the English defender will not be allowed to leave Liverpool and is considered a very valuable player for the Reds.

Joao Neves
SL Benfica wonderkid Joao Neves is the next name on the list with the Portuguese midfielder being linked with a move to the Premier League.
Manchester United have previously been credited with an interest but it is Liverpool who Correire De Manha believe are intensifying their efforts.
The club have reportedly done their homework on the midfielder who has a £105 million release clause and have even spoken to Diogo Jota about the talented 19-year-old.
Liverpool have already carried out one successful negotiation with the Portuguese giants in recent times, signing Darwin Nunez in an £85m deal from Benfica back in June 2022.
Ederson
Atalanta midfielder Ederson has been a name heavily linked with a move to Anfield but HITC understands that he is not high on Liverpool’s list of targets this summer.
The Brazilian midfielder was asked about a move to Anfield, he told AS: “We talked a lot about taking advantage of the moment, and right now I’m doing very well at Atalanta. I don’t think it’s those speculations that should distract me.
“If an offer comes, Atalanta will decide. If something comes up about a transfer, the club has to accept it first, and that is the most important thing.
A defensive addition is understood to be the club’s current priority.
