As the Summer transfer window edges ever closer, here is the latest transfer news coming out of Liverpool over the past 24 hours.

Goncalo Inacio

The race for Portuguese defender Goncalo Inacio looks set to heat up over the next few weeks with Manchester United and Liverpool ready to do battle.

According to a report from A Bola, the Reds have asked the Portuguese side about what it would take to sign the defender and Sporting Lisbon have told them to pay the £51 million release clause.

The report states that with Joel Matip leaving the club on a free transfer, a new defender is said to be a high priority for the Reds and Inacio could be the replacement.

Liverpool also may have the edge with the uncertainty continuing over Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford.

Teun Koopmeiners

The future of Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners remains up in the air with HITC reporting that Juventus are closing in on the signing.

However, a report from Italian outlet Gazzeta Dello Sport has thrown Liverpool into the mix with Atalanta demanding around £50 million for the Dutchman.

There were reports last week that Ederson was the player liked by Liverpool but sources have told HITC that there is very little in that rumour.

Atalanta will reportedly only sell one of Koopmeiners or Ederson and the Dutchman looks the more likely one to leave, as things stand.

Caoimhin Kelleher

The sale of Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher looks to be one of the more advanced ones with the Anfield club setting a price for the backup goalkeeper.

Speaking on the Media Matters Podcast, journalist David Lynch has claimed that the Reds will ‘seek more than £20 million’ for Kelleher. HITC reports he is interested in a potential move to Celtic.

With Alisson continuing to be at his consistent best this season, Kelleher has hardly had a sniff at Anfield and that looks set to continue under Arne Slot.

Lutsharel Geertruida

Dutch defender Lutsharel Geertruida looks to be one of the names on Arne Slot’s transfer list, that’s according to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf.

The right-back, who can also fill in at centre-back, is attracting interest from the Reds but Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are ready to enter the race according to the same report.

With Matip leaving Liverpool this summer, a new defensive addition will be vital for the Reds next season.
