Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has spoken out about his future at St James’ Park this summer.
After Newcastle United failed to achieve European football this season, attention has turned to the futures of Bruno Guimaraes and Swedish forward Alexander Isak.
Since moving to St James’ Park from Real Sociedad, the Swedish forward has excelled but has had to deal with a few injury problems too, but he had a superb campaign last season.
As a result of this, there has been interest from other Premier League clubs with Arsenal understood to have the 24-year-old on their list of striker targets but the Swedish forward has opened up about his future and it is good news for Newcastle.

Isak on Newcastle future
Speaking to Swedish outlet FotbolSkanalen, the forward was asked about his immediate future at St James’ Park and he certainly seems settled in the North of England.
“It’s been good, especially the second part of the season. I had some nicks and injuries in the first part. It was a bit difficult to find the “flow” but the last few months I have played regularly and gained continuity. It has shown in the performances as well,” Isak said.
“I’m really, really happy at Newcastle. I had my best season of my career. You can’t underestimate that. I love everything about the club, the fans, the city. I don’t really have any thoughts of moving or anything like that.”
HITC have previously reported that Arsenal had Isak on their list of targets but it is also our understanding that due to the prospect of losing midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, the Geordie side would be willing to offer the Swede a new and improved contract, this would make him one of the club’s highest earners.
Isak’s brilliant season
Since moving to St James’ Park, Isak has scored an impressive 31 Premier League goals in two seasons, which includes a 21-goal haul in the previous campaign.
Newcastle holding on to a player of Isak’s quality will be vital for them next season and the Geordie side are keen on boosting their attacking options with Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan-Gibbs White, understood to be an option.
As well as this, Jarrod Bowen and Michael Olise are also of interest. if Newcastle hold onto Isak, and add either Bowen or Olise to their forward line, they would, once again, be a force to be reckoned with.
