Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping for some European success of their own next season after watching the Champions League final unfold on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou’s side will be competing in the Europa League, and whilst there will be a few big teams in the competition, you expect Spurs to back themselves to possibly reach the final, at the very least.

Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley, with many top stars securing glory on Europe’s biggest stage.

From Vinicius Jr, who scored Madrid’s second goal, to midfield machine Jude Bellingham. These two are certainly in contention to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

A lot will probably depend on what happens at Euro 2024 and Copa America, respectively.

You feel England and Brazil, or even both, winning their respective competition, could go a long way to that individual winning the coveted Ballon d’Or prize.

But Tottenham star Richarlison, who is a fellow countryman of Vinicius Jr, has already made his feelings clear, regardless of what happens this summer.

The Spurs forward posted an image on his Instagram story of Vinicius Jr holding the Ballon d’Or trophy – and it was backed by one Karim Benzema.

The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner posted an image of Madrid’s new star on his Instagram story, with the simple caption of ‘Ballon d’Or’, after previously telling teammates not to pass the Brazil star the ball when he first arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Vinicius Jr scores in another Champions League final

‘Good morning,” wrote Vini Jr on Instagram. “Champions. 15.”

Tottenham Hotspur back in Europe

After a 12-month absence, Spurs are back on the European stage and hoping to stay there because the traffic behind them in the Premier League is pretty long.

Postecoglou deserves credit for turning the club’s fortunes around because he has also done it without Harry Kane after he left last summer.

He won’t have that distraction over his head this summer, but he will want Daniel Levy to back him the the transfer market.

Sources have told HITC that Spurs are planning a double transfer raid of Chelsea as they target Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah.
