Liverpool have confirmed the arrival of Arne Slot as their new head coach and HITC can reveal how long he has signed for.

The Reds were part of an emotional farewell to their legendary head coach Jurgen Klopp at Anfield on Sunday as staff, players and fans alike paid tribute to the departing German – who was quick to throw his support behind Arne Slot.

“You welcome the new manager like you welcomed me,” Klopp told the fans as he gave his farewell address at Anfield.

“Change is good. If you go into it with the right attitude, then everything will be fine.”

“Your job now is to stand by our new manager.”

Then, just 24 hours later – Liverpool were finally in position to confirm the arrival of their new boss in the shape of Slot.

Arne Slot signs three-year deal with Liverpool

And well placed sources have confirmed to HITC that Slot has put pen-to-paper on an initial three-year deal with the Merseyside giants.

Slot arrives in England after a three-year stint at De Kuip as Feyenoord head coach. Having joined them in 2021 after leaving AZ Alkmaar – Slot guided the Rotterdam outfit to an Eredivisie title and a Dutch Cup win, whilst also reaching the final of the Europa Conference League in 2022.

The Anfield giants confirmed the deal in a statement on their official website: “Liverpool Football Club can announce Arne Slot has agreed a deal to become the club’s new head coach, formally taking up the position on June 1, 2024, subject to a work permit.

“The 45-year-old will join the Reds from Feyenoord ahead of the 2024-25 season after a deal was reached with the Eredivisie club for his services.

“Slot will replace Jurgen Klopp at the helm following his decision to step down from the post at the end of the current campaign.”

One of the key priorities for Liverpool in the Klopp era is to get Trent Alexander-Arnold tied to a new deal, HITC reported earlier.
