A huge game awaits West Ham United on Tuesday night as they lock horns with fierce rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.
If David Moyes’ side showcase the same signs they have been illustrating in their recent Premier League matches, then they will get eaten alive by a team pushing for Champions League football.
West Ham’s 4-3 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday was crushing and morale-sapping for the team given that they were leading 3-1.
What makes matters worse is that the home team had injury issue after injury issue, including captain Jamaal Lascelles being forced off.
Looking on from the outside, with West Ham winning the Europa Conference League last season and currently sitting seventh in the Premier League table, you wonder why there is so much negativity around Moyes.
The Scotsman helped deliver the club’s first trophy in over four decades, so you would assume he would be a popular figure at the London Stadium.
But it simply isn’t the case!

David Moyes’ questionable decision-making
Watching as a neutral, West Ham don’t exactly play free-flowing football, so you can understand some of the negative noise towards their manager.
Especially when you consider the players the Hammers have at their disposal, including entertaining duo Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta.
Before the international break against Aston Villa, and the defeat at St James’ Park, Moyes’ substitutions were beyond baffling.
You can see why his fans get so frustrated with him because he cost the team, big time!
Forget about Kalvin Phillips and the mistake-ridden performances he is bringing to the table, the issue is clearly with the manager here.
Against Villa, Michail Antonio, who is now starting to hit some form, was subbed off for Ben Johnson just after the hour mark.
That allowed Unai Emery’s side to push further forward and worry less about what was behind them. It then resulted in Villa deservedly equalising.
And then against Newcastle, he took off the same player again, around the same time, but this time for Phillips.
Once again, it just allowed Newcastle to go one way and one way only. West Ham couldn’t keep hold of the ball or just ease the constant pressure on their back line, with the end result for all to see.
Moyes has done remarkable to help deliver a trophy for West Ham, including constant European finishes, but he just doesn’t help himself at times and you can see why he divides opinion amongst the fanbase.
