As you can imagine, Gary Neville is still buzzing from Manchester United’s incredible 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Given that the game was broadcast on ITV, the former right-back was able to watch the match from the comfort of his home and he posted a clip of his celebrations on social media when Amad Diallo scored the winner.

In the latest Stick to Football podcast on The Overlap, Gary Neville added that the win for Manchester United over their old enemies was ‘beautiful’

Before proceeding to state that Diogo Dalot has been Manchester United’s ‘best player this season’.

The 25-year-old has operated at right-back and left-back for Erik ten Hag’s injury-hit team, with the Portugal star playing the whole 120 minutes on the right side against Liverpool.

Given that Manchester United haven’t been able to play a settled back four throughout the season because of injuries.

It has resulted in players like Diogo Dalot becoming even more valuable and Gary Neville was sure to give him his flowers.

Has Diogo Dalot been Manchester United’s best player this season?

“The celebration at home was gold,” Wright told Neville about the Instagram clip he posted after the winning goal. “We were screaming,” shared Neville.

“Was it a beautiful thing?” asked Wright. “Oh, it was beautiful,” expressed Neville.

Neville then added about Dalot: “He has done well, Dalot. He has been the best player this season.”

FA Cup momentum

You could argue that the international break has come at the wrong time for Manchester United because that Liverpool win was their best performance and win under ten Hag.

With the team pushing for Champions League football, it has now been stalled slightly and they will have to pick it up again in a few weeks.

It’s a trip to Griffin Park and a clash against relegation-threatened Brentford when the players return.

If Manchester United drop points here, then they can wave goodbye to the top four because they will just pull further away.
