Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur lost to Fulham in the London derby this past weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur went down 3-0 to Fulham away from home at Craven Cottage in the Premier League on Saturday.

The match saw Radu Dragusin make his first start in the Premier League for Tottenham following his move from Genoa in the January transfer window.

Dragusin replaced Micky van de Ven in the team. The £34.5 million (Sky Sports) defender was injured for the London derby.

Romania international defender Dragusin did not have the best of matches, and talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has noted that Spurs are not the same team without van de Ven.

The former Tottenham player has outlined how Van de Ven helps Tottenham play the way head coach Ange Postecoglou wants them to play.

Jamie O’Hara comments on Tottenham Hotspur duo Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin

O’Hara said about Dragusin on talkSPORT (8:12 pm, March 16, 2024): “I did notice that a little bit, Dragusin, as soon as Van de Ven got injured, yeah, I don’t think that’s why we lost, but he does make the team play different.

“Because his one-on-one defending, because of his pace, gets you out of so many problems. Dragusin, look, I think he did okay today, didn’t do any howler, but you can notice the pace difference for sure.”

My View: Micky van de Ven is a big player for Tottenham Hotspur

In my opinion, Micky van de Ven is one of the best young defenders in the Premier League and is a big player for Tottenham Hotspur.

Van de Ven is only 22, but the Netherlands international centre-back plays with a lot of maturity and is very calm on the ball.

The defender does not get unsettled when he is under pressure, and he seems to have self-conviction in his pace.

Radu Dragusin is only 22, and I think that Romania international centre-back will grow and develop in the coming years. Spurs fans have to be patient with him.
