Jamie Carragher loved what he saw from Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah – but was far from impressed with Cody Gakpo against Manchester United.
Liverpool are out of the FA Cup after a dramatic 4-3 defeat at Manchester United.
The Reds were slow to start but and fell a goal down before Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah turned the game on its head.
Antony’s late goal sent it to extra time but Liverpool again got themselves in front with Harvey Elliott’s deflected strike finding the net.
Liverpool had chances to kill the game off but saw Marcus Rashford level it up again before the killer moment came with Amad Diallo sending United through.

Jamie Carragher on Cody Gakpo
This was Liverpool’s game to win for large spells.
Liverpool were dominant for stretches but couldn’t put United away as some poor attacking play held them back.
United were playing with two recognised defenders for a while and yet Liverpool still couldn’t win it.
It’s difficult to look at this result as anything but a massive disappointment – especially as the semi-final prize would have been a tie with Coventry City.
Some Liverpool players just didn’t impact the game enough and Cody Gakpo was one of them.
The Dutchman came off the bench but made next to no impact, leaving Jamie Carragher disappointed.
Carragher took to social media to suggest that Gakpo plays as if the game is on slow motion, seemingly hugely unimpressed with the attacker.
Liverpool agreed to pay up to £44million for Gakpo but have yet to really see consistent returns from the Dutchman.
Carragher is clearly having doubts about Gakpo in a Liverpool shirt but feels a lot better about defender Jarell Quansah.
The centre back turned in another impressive display alongside Virgil van Dijk and Carragher simply posted Quansah’s name alongside a heart-eyed emoji.
Quansah has come up through the ranks at Liverpool and looks the part around the first-team stars – arguably more so than Gakpo right now.
