Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are not having the best of seasons, but one player who cannot be blamed at all is Cole Palmer.
Cole Palmer joined Chelsea from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer of 2023 for £40 million (Sky Sports) and has been very good for the Blues this season.
Palmer, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has been consistently good and has been a bright spark for Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has scored 11 goals and given eight assists in 19 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Blues this season.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praises Chelsea and England international star Cole Palmer
Palmer has also been included in the latest England squad, and former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has raved about him.

Hasselbaink said about Palmer on BBC One: “Cole Palmer has got class, but his intelligence in football is really high.
“He is the future. He’s in the squad, he’s play absolutely magnificently for his club. There’s a lot of talent in his position, but he’s in the squad. When you play for the national team, it’s another level and it’s up to him.”
My View: Cole Palmer is a gem
In my opinion, Chelsea and England international attacker Cole Palmer is a gem of a footballer. Paul Merson thinks that he has got the X-factor.
Despite being only 21 now, he has played with a lot of maturity and has been consistently good for Chelsea. That tells a lot about his mentality.
I think that we will see more from Palmer in the coming years. He is only 21 now, and he is surely going to get better and develop in the coming years.
I think that if Palmer continues to grow and get more experience, then he will become a world-class player in the next three or four years, perhaps even earlier. For now, Palmer needs to work hard and not get carried away.
