Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment, and one of the main reasons behind that is the form of Kai Havertz in recent weeks.

Kai Havertz has now established himself as one of the most important players in the Arsenal team.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been playing Havertz as a false nine, and the former Chelsea player has been scoring goals and providing assists.

Havertz scored the winning goal for Arsenal against Brentford at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League this past weekend.

The 24-year-old forward, who joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2023, has now scored eight goals and given three assists in the league for the Gunners.

Ian Wright gives his verdict on Arsenal star Kai Havertz

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has been hugely impressed with Havertz and has noted the attributes that make him complete.

Wright said about Havertz on Sky Sports: “I think you just look at what he’s done. From the time he has got here, he has done the same things.

“Obviously, he wasn’t scoring at the same rate he is now, but he’s a big-game player. He’s our main focal point. He can come off, he can link play, he can intercept – he can do everything.”

My View: Mikel Arteta deserves praise for Kai Havertz turnaround

In my opinion, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta deserves a lot of praise for Kai Havertz’s recent form.

In the opening months of the season when Havertz was struggling to find his feet at Arsenal and was not making much of an impact, Arteta persevered with him and kept playing him.

And, now we are seeing that perseverence paying off. Havertz is playing well, looks very confident, and is scoring important goals.

In my view, for Arsenal to beat Liverpool and Manchester City to the Premier League title this season, Havertz will have to be on top of his game for the rest of the season.
