Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool played well against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday and deservedly picked up a point from the Premier League game.
Manchester City took the lead through John Stones in the first half, but Liverpool equalised through an Alexis Mac Allister penalty in the opening minutes of the second period.
City had chances, but so did Liverpool, who were denied a potential penalty in injury time.
One of the players who did well for Liverpool against City was Wataru Endo. The Japan international was a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the park.
Praise for Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo vs Manchester City
Endo frustrated City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, made good recoveries and imposed himself in midfield.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thinks that 31-year-old Japan international has developed into a world-class player, and, as you can see below, former Anfield star Lucas Leiva has been impressed as well.
Endo joined Liverpool from VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2023.
The midfielder has made 12 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season. He has scored one goal in those games.

Endo has scored one goal in seven UEFA Europa League games and gave one assist in four Carabao Cup matches for the Reds this campaign.
My View: Good point for Liverpool
In my opinion, Liverpool should be pleased with the point that they earned against Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
It was a very good and entertaining match, and I think that Liverpool were the better team in the second half.
A defeat would have been damaging for the Reds, but a draw keeps everything well-balanced. I think that the Premier League title race between Liverpool, City and Arsenal this season will go down to the wire.
