Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and talkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has predicted the winners.

With Arsenal winning against Brentford on Saturday evening, the pressure is now on Liverpool and Manchester City.

Arsenal are the Premier League leaders with 64 points from 28 games. Liverpool are second with 63 points from 27 matches, while defending champions City are third. Pep Guardiola’s side are on 62 points from 27 games.

Liverpool will lock horns with City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and talkSPORT pundit and former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has predicted the Citizens to win the match.

Gabriel Agbonlahor backs Manchester City to win vs Liverpool

Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT (7:22 pm, March 9, 2024): “In previous seasons, I would say Liverpool at home, Liverpool at home, but Konate is out, I think. He came off with an injury in the Europa League.

“Who is going to play alongside him? Is it going to be Gomez? Salah is coming back from injury, how sharp will Salah be? Szoboszlai is back, of course, Trent is not playing, so I just look at this game and I feel this is the one where Man City go and win.

“You saw Kyle Walker talking about it during the week, never won there for Spurs and Man City, never won at Anfield. You know, that plays on the players’ minds.

“Trent’s comments – that’s the team talk for Man City, that’s the team talk. Haaland has bit at it, Ruben Dias has bit on it, so I think it’s going to be the sort of game where you see Manchester City turn up and I will go for Manchester City to win.”

My View: Liverpool will not lose to Manchester City

In my opinion, Liverpool will not lose to Manchester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Yes, Liverpool have injury problems and City have Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland in form, but I think that the Merseyside club are still good enough to make sure that they get a point at least from the game.

I am backing Liverpool to pick up a point against City at Anfield. I think that the Premier League game will end in a 1-1 or a 2-2 draw.

Liverpool are in good form at the moment. They have won their last four Premier League games and won big in the UEFA Europa League in midweek.
