Manchester United are looking at making new signings in the summer transfer window, and one of the players the Red Devils are keen on is Harry Kane.
HITC reported last month that Manchester United want to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window and have “a concrete interest” in former Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. United are scouting Luca Netz as well.
Minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are already assessing what United need to do at the end of the season to build a competitive team, and HITC has been told that Bayern Munich star Kane is seen as the ideal option in attack.
Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham in the summer of 2023 and has been superb for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season.
The England international striker has scored 27 goals and given five assists in 24 Bundesliga matches and has scored six goals and provided three assists in eight UEFA Champions League games this season.
Peter Schmeichel impressed with Manchester United target Harry Kane
Schmeichel said on the Planet Premier League Podcast, as transcribed by TBR: “I can see Gareth Southgate having a look at all of those options. That sounds very scary.

“Harry Kane at the top, red hot, Phil Foden, you have Bukayo Saka who is very hot at the moment, then Jude Bellingham who can’t stop scoring, but I can’t see him gambling all of those players in the same game.”
Kane’s form for Bayern has impressed United legend Peter Schmeichel, who has noted how strong England are in attacking areas.
My View: Manchester United could struggle to sign Harry Kane in 2024 summer
In my opinion, Manchester United could struggle to sign Harry Kane from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
Yes, Bayern are having a disappointing season. They are unlikely to win the Bundesliga title and may not even get to the final of the UEFA Champions League.
But, Bayern are one of the biggest and most historic clubs in the world, and they will not want to lose Kane after just one season.
After all, the 30-year-old is a world-class striker and has been arguably the best player for Bayern this season.
Moreover, the striker himself may not be keen on a move to United, especially at a time when they are not ready to win or even challenge for the Premier League title.
