Kai Havertz is starting to prove a lot of people wrong after being on the wrong end of headlines when he first joined Arsenal from Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has needed time, but he is now starting to play a crucial role in Arsenal possibly winning the Premier League title in May.

On Monday night, Mike Arteta watched his players dispatch yet another team, this time hitting bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United for six.

Michael Owen was keen to praise Kai Havertz, his ‘classy style’ and how he has an ‘absolutely incredible’ touch, as he told Premier League Productions (04/03/24 at 10:10 pm).

The Germany international has now scored in three consecutive games for Arsenal, with both assists and goals coming in his last two matches.

That is proof that he is getting stronger and stronger at such a crucial period of the season.

That’s why Michael Owen was keen to give the versatile forward his flowers by praising his technical ability.

Kai Havertz’s technical ability

“You talk about his left foot, that was a cracking strike,” said Owen. “He also showed for the sixth goal how good his touch is as well, with his left foot, it’s absolutely incredible.

“Ben White started almost in a right-wing position there. He makes a lovely run inside for Havertz to run into the channel.

“Then Havertz just does brilliantly well to bring the ball down. Just that languid, loose and classy style he has got.”

Arsenal scoring for fun

From a defensive aspect, Sheffield United will probably go down as one of the worst teams in Premier League history.

As of this moment, they have conceded 72 goals – no team has conceded more after 27 matches.

Therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise Arsenal walloped them, but it’s something they have been doing since returning from the winter break.

That’s 31 goals scored and only three conceded for a team that was told time and time again that they need a number nine.
