Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes Nottingham Forest fans made a big mistake by winding up Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool headed to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon with Jurgen Klopp chasing another victory.
After a euphoric week saw Liverpool’s young players take centre stage, the Reds looked like coming unstuck against Forest.
Liverpool just couldn’t find a killer touch in front of goal and Forest looked very dangerous going the other way.
A 0-0 draw seemed the most likely outcome but there was a stunning late twist as Darwin Nunez rose highest to head home Alexis Mac Allister’s 99th-minute cross.
The goal sparked wild scenes in the away end as Liverpool fans celebrated a potentially crucial goal in the Premier League title race.
Jurgen Klopp on Darwin Nunez
Nunez came up with the big moment, nodding home his 10th Premier League goal of the season.
The Uruguayan still gets mocked on a regular basis but has been silencing his doubters with 10 goals and seven assists in 25 Premier League outings this term.
Forest fans attempted to mock Nunez too, chanting about him being a worse version of former Liverpool striker Andy Carroll.
Nunez is hit with that chant on a regular basis but Klopp feels the Forest fans made a mistake by doing it on Saturday.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Klopp suggested that he wouldn’t dare sing a song like that in Nunez’s direction, believing it would only wind him up and make it even more likely that he would score.
Klopp hailed Nunez for an ‘incredible’ goal, seemingly believing that forest fans simply egged him on to score by mocking him.
“People sang a song and the guy who looks like a former Liverpool player finished the situation off,” said Klopp. “I wouldn’t sing a song like that. I would not try to wind Darwin up but he scored the goal, an incredible goal,” he added.
With Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota both out right now, somebody has to step up in the final third.
On Saturday, Nunez did exactly that and then some, getting Liverpool out of jail and putting the ball back in Manchester City and Arsenal’s court.
