TalkSPORT reported this week that new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is ready to offload Antony in the summer transfer window.
The report claimed that Ratcliffe knows that Manchester United will have to sell the winger at a huge loss, but he has decided to offload him anyway.
Manchester United making the right decision regarding Antony
Now, whether or not United are able to find a club that would be willing to sign Antony remains to be keen, but I think that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is making the right decision in trying to get rid of the winger.
Antony has been a poor signing for United. The 24-year-old Brazil international winger has failed to make a real impact at Old Trafford.
There have been occasions when the winger has shown some fancy footwork, but he does not score enough goals or create too many chances.
Antony has made 45 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. He has scored four goals and given two assists in those games.
The winger has made 11 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season. Antony has not scored a goal or given an assist in those games.
Yes, I understand that Antony is only 24, but it has not clicked for him at United in almost two years now. I do not think that it will work out for him at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag made a bad decision in signing him.
Antony needs to move on, and United, too, need to offload him and find someone better.
