Alan Shearer has given his verdict on Arsenal forward Kai Havertz after watching him in action against Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium this past weekend.

The Newcastle legend and BBC Sport pundit was hugely impressed by Havertz.

So, what has Alan Shearer said about Arsenal forward Kai Havertz? Let’s take a look.

Alan Shearer praises Arsenal forward Kai Havertz

Well, Alan Shearer has named Arsenal forward Kai Havertz in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The Gunners beat the Magpies 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League. Havertz scored a goal and provided an assist.

The 24-year-old Germany international forward has made 18 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season. He has scored six goals and given two assists in those games.

Shearer said about Havertz on PremierLeague.com: “With a goal and an assist, he’s become a key part of what is currently the best attack in the Premier League.”

My View: Kai Havertz is hitting form at the right time

In my opinion, Arsenal forward Kai Havertz is hitting form at the right time. We are now coming towards the business end of the season, and the former Chelsea player is showing his quality.

Havertz is playing as a false nine and is doing well. True, there have been occasions when he has missed chances, but we should not be too harsh on him for that. After all, he is not a natural striker.

The former Chelsea player gives Arsenal a presence upfront, and his ability to create chances and see situations also helps the Gunners. Even Piers Morgan has been impressed.

I think that Havertz could play a big role for Arsenal in their quest to beat Liverpool and Manchester City to the Premier League title this season if he maintains his current form.
