Darren Bent has said that Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea could have won against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool if they had Arsenal midfielder Jorginho.
Chelsea lost the Carabao Cup final to Premier League rivals Liverpool on Sunday.
So, what has Darren Bent said about Arsenal midfielder Jorginho and Chelsea? Let’s take a look.
Darren Bent makes Chelsea and Jorginho point
Well, Chelsea lost to Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup on Sunday. Virgil van Dijk scored the only goal of the match in the 118th minute.
While Chelsea did do well in normal time, the Blues failed to take advantage when Liverpool had to bring on young players for extra time.
Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Darren Bent thinks that Jorginho would have been better for Chelsea in the middle of the park against Liverpool than Moises Caicedo was.

Chelsea sold Italian midfielder Jorginho to Arsenal in January 2023 for £12 million (The Guardian). He is an important figure for the Gunners and has been playing well lately.
Bent told talkSPORT: “They’re not bad players because Liverpool wanted the same players. If you’re a Chelsea fan and you’re watching that yesterday – I know they wanted Jorginho out, but he’d have been so much better in that situation than Caicedo.
“What Jorginho does better than anyone is control the pace of the game. Even Mateo Kovacic, they let Kovacic go to Man City – you can’t tell me that Kovacic and Jorginho aren’t better than Caicedo and Enzo?”
My View: Chelsea are a pale shadow of themselves
I am not a Chelsea fan, but it hurts me to see how the club has fallen.
Once upon a time, Chelsea were winning the Premier League title, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
Under former owner Roman Abramovich, Chelsea were a force to be reckoned with. The Blues were a winning machine, and the players knew that winning major trophies was part of the club’s culture.
Chelsea were very poor last season, and the Blues are equally bad this time around. They will not finish in the top four of the Premier League table yet again. Under Abramovich, anything less than winning the title was considered a failure.
It is really sad to see how Chelsea have fallen. You wonder if they will ever get back to the level they once were.
