Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has given his verdict on Adam Idah after the match against Motherwell.

Idah scored two goals for Celtic to beat Motherwell and keep the pressure on Rangers.

So, what has Brendan Rodgers said about Celtic striker Adam Idah? Let’s take a look.

Brendan Rodgers praises Celtic striker Adam Idah

Well, Celtic beat Motherwell 3-1 away from home in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

The defending Scottish Premiership champions had to come from behind to pick up all three points from the encounter.

Adam Idah was the star of the show for Brendan Rodgers’s side. The striker, who is rated highly, scored two goals in Celtic’s comeback win.

Idah scored his first goal in the 51st minute and doubled his tally in the fourth minute of injury time.

The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international striker joined Celtic on loan from Norwich City in the January transfer window.

The youngster has scored four goals and given one assist in two starts and two substitute appearances in the Scotitsh Premiership for the Hoops, and Rodgers expects him to explode soon.

Rodgers told Celtic’s official website about Idah: “Adam coming on was huge for us. I felt at half-time that we needed both movement and someone who could look after the ball for us, and the big guy comes in and scores two fantastic goals.

“He’s got a lot of qualities and hopefully here, over these remaining months he can show those.

“We needed that because we didn’t really have anything in the first period. Kyogo’s a guy that likes to run in behind, but in a game like today we needed someone who could take the ball into feet as well and, like I said, he scored two very good goals.

“And the impact of the subs overall – Cam comes in and settles everything at the back, Yang comes on and did very well, and looked to get on the outside as well as the inside.

“Luis Palma comes on and gets a goal at the back post and, obviously, Adam gets his two goals, so it was a real team effort and I’m really proud of them.”

Exciting Scottish Premiership title race

The win against Motherwell was massive for Celtic. It has helped the Bhoys maintain pressure on Old Firm rivals Rangers.

Rangers are on a roll at the moment under manager Philippe Clement. The Gers have won their last five Scottish Premiership matches and are now at the top of the table with 67 points from 27 matches. Celtic are second with 65 points from 27 games.

I think that the race for the Scottish Premiership title will go down to the wire. While Rangers are on a high at the moment, Celtic have been the dominating force in Scottish football for a number of years now and know how to get the job done.
