Sevilla’s Loic Bade might have just confirmed reports linking the former Nottingham Forest loanee with a Premier League return as he opens up on Tottenham Hotspur’s interest.

Who could blame Loic Bade if he feels he has unfinished business in English football?

The former France Under-21 international did not make a single Premier League appearance during a few very forgettable months on loan at Nottingham Forest in the first half of last season, after all, stuck behind a host of other new faces in Steve Cooper’s pecking order.

Opportunities have certainly been a lot more forthcoming in Spain, Bade joining Sevilla from Rennes to the tune of just £10 million. And while this has been another difficult campaign for the perennial Europa League champions, Bade’s performances appear to have caught the eye of a Tottenham Hotspur side planning further defensive reinforcements following the arrivals of Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin.

Tottenham Hotspur ‘interested’ in Sevilla’s Loic Bade

“There is a little satisfaction. When a big club like Tottenham is interested, it’s because you do good things,” Bade now tells Estadio Deportivo.

The 6ft 3ins colossus is in no rush to bring an early end to his Sevilla career, however. There are still three years remaining on his current deal at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

“I like the city. I feel very good here,” Bade adds. “If I have to stay here for twenty years, I will. Yes of course (I can envisage staying in Seville), because I’m fine.

“I’m very comfortable.”

Spurs like Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly

Bade, like Dragusin and Cristian Romero, is a centre-half who prefers to play on the right.

Tottenham appear to be prioritising a left-footer to provide competition for Van de Ven as things stand, HITC Football having been informed that Ange Postecoglou’s side are ready to rival Liverpool and Newcastle United for AFC Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly.

Kelly will be a free-agent in the summer.
