- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Jose Mourinho is interested in becoming the new Bayern Munich boss as the pressure mounts on Thomas Tuchel after a damaging weekend.
Bayern faced a top-of-the-table clash against Bayer Leverkusen, knowing that win would take them to the top of the Bundesliga table.
Instead, Bayern were smashed 3-0 and are now five points behind Leverkusen with their dominance of German football now in danger of being broken.
Boss Thomas Tuchel is taking major criticism right now and he needs results quickly in order to keep his job – especially with other managers interested in his job…
Jose Mourinho keen on Bayern Munich move
HITC Football understands that Jose Mourinho is ‘fascinated’ at the prospect of landing the Bayern Munich job.
Mourinho is a free agent after parting company with Roma in January, following nearly three year in charge of the Serie A club.
A move to Saudi Arabia has already been snubbed and Mourinho isn’t yet looking into the possibility of international management.
HITC sources believe Mourinho still feels he can land a ‘big’ job and they have told us he is ‘fascinated with the prospect of landing a title in a fifth league’ something only Carlo Ancelotti has previously achieved.
Ancelotti has won the title in England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain with Mourinho currently boasting titles in England, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
Mourinho would love to add the Bundesliga to his record and he would also relish the chance to manage Harry Kane again having worked together at Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Kane has already confirmed strong Mourinho relationship
Tottenham brought in Mourinho to try and win trophies alongside striker Kane, but it just didn’t work out.
In fact, Mourinho was sacked by Tottenham just days before a Carabao Cup final clash against Manchester City, not even giving Mourinho the chance to win a final.
Kane was taken aback by the sacking and told Sky Sports that he had a ‘great relationship’ with Mourinho.
“I had a great relationship with Jose, I wish him all the best for whatever his next job is, but he knows as we know football can be cut-throat and we just have to look forward,” said Kane.
Some three years on, Kane and Mourinho could yet reunite in Germany and attempt to salvage Bayern’s season.

Petr Cech comments on Mourinho to Chelsea
Mourinho’s availability after leaving Roma has left some Chelsea fans begging for his return to Stamford Bridge.
‘The Special One’ has already had two stints as Chelsea boss and remains a popular figure with many Chelsea supporters.
Former Chelsea goalkeeper and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech was a star under Mourinho and has told Sky Sports that you just never know whether another Blues return could materialise.
“You never know,” said Cech. “Of course, I cannot say, I don’t know how the club think,” he added.
Mauricio Pochettino’s first season in charge has been mixed and Mourinho is a name that will be connected to the Blues forever – especially when a vacancy opens up.
