Nurnberg wonderkid Can Uzun is likely to depart in the summer transfer window amid interest from Premier League trio Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham.
That is according to Dieter Hecking, Nurnberg’s sporting director sending a rather clear message that, as far as the much-coveted 18-year-old is concerned, the supporters should enjoy him while they can.
Because Can Uzun, it seems, will not be sticking around for much longer.
According to Ruhr Nachricthten, there is quite the queue forming for the German-born Turkey Under-18 international. Newcastle United, Fulham and Everton are jostling for position, with Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and more also throwing their respective hats into the ring.

Newcastle United and Everton in Can Uzun race
“The probability that he will stay over the summer is relatively low,” an honest and expectant Hecking tells Sky Deutschland.
“Clubs are lining up (to sign him).”
Uzun, despite only celebrating his 18th birthday in November is already – to quote Hecking – an ‘important part’ of the Nurnberg first-team. The teenager has a superb 10 goals in 18 Bundesliga.2 games this term, and 13 in 20 across all competitions.
“He is developing really great, and we are very proud that we have been able to support him for so long,” Olaf Rebbe, the club’s sporting director, told Transfermarkt before Christmas.
“He has drawn attention with his goals, assists, and the way he plays. The fact that he performs so consistently well at his age is extraordinary. We’ll see what the future brings.”
Wonderkid in prolific form
Reports have indicated that Uzun could leave Nurnburg for a fee in the region of £10 million. A fee that would make the twinkle-toed attacking midfielder the biggest export in the club’s history.
If Newcastle is to be Uzun’s destination, the rangy, 6ft 1ins playmaker would join quite the collection of rising stars at St James’ Park. Tino Livramento, Elliot Anderson and Lewis Miley – who at 17 is a few months younger than Uzun – have all become regular fixtures in the senior set up under Eddie Howe.
