Chris Sutton has given his verdict on how the match between Unai Emery’s Aston Villa and Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United will pan out.
The former Chelsea striker and BBC Sport has predicted three goals at Villa Park, while Dimitar Berbatov thinks that the Premier League game will end in a draw.
So, what has Chris Sutton said ahead of Aston Villa against Manchester United? Let’s take a look.
Chris Sutton backs Aston Villa to win vs Manchester United
Well, Aston Villa will take on Manchester United at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
Villa are fifth in the Premier League table with 46 points from 23 matches. The Villans are a point behind Tottenham Hotspur, who are fourth and have played 24 matches. Spurs beat Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thinks that Villa are in the running for the Premier League title this season. Unai Emery’s side are eight points behind the Reds, who are top and have played 24 games.
Meanwhile, Manchester United currently find themselves sixth in the league table with 38 points from 23 games.
Former Villa striker Chris Sutton has backed the Villans to win on Sunday, while ex-United striker Dimitar Berbatov has predicted the match to end in a draw.

Sutton told BBC Sport: “Manchester United impressed me in their win over West Ham with the control they had of that game – we have not seen that from them very often recently.
“People are saying they are getting back to their best form and when Erik ten Hag spoke afterwards, he was as upbeat as I’ve heard him be all season.
Rasmus Hojlund is one of the reasons Ten Hag is so positive. He played well, and again took his goal well.
“This is a very different test, however, even if Aston Villa have lost their past two home games, firstly against Newcastle and then to Chelsea in the FA Cup.
“Villa are not out of the title race yet and I am backing them to respond. While I think Manchester United will score, Lisandro Martinez’s injury is a big loss for them at the back.
“Sutton’s prediction: 2-1.”
Berbatov told Metro: A draw with goals because both teams have great young players that are hungry for goals and they’re hungry to show how good they are. Based on this, I’d like to see goals, but I cannot call who will win this one.
“Prediction: 2-2.”
My View: Aston Villa will not lose to Manchester United
In my opinion, Aston Villa will lose to Manchester United at Villa Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
I know that Villa are not in great form at the moment. The Villans have won one of their past three home matches.
But, the match is still at Villa Park, and I think that the Villa players will step up their game.
While United have their last two Premier League matches, Erik ten Hag’s side are unpredictable and not the most consistent of teams.
