Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has praised Harvey Elliott after his impact in Saturday’s 3-1 home win over Burnley.
The Reds picked up another three points on Saturday afternoon but had to work hard to beat the relegation-threatened Clarets.
Diogo Jota’s opener was cancelled out by Dara O’Shea’s header, meaning Liverpool went into the break level at 1-1.
Liverpool did find the win as Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez found the net to secure a 3-1 victory having dominated for much of the game against an awkward Burnley side.
Harvey Elliott praised after Liverpool win
Jurgen Klopp made a change at the break as Trent Alexander-Arnold was withdrawn as a precaution and Harvey Elliott came on.
That meant Curtis Jones moved to right back with Elliott going into midfield and the 20-year-old made a huge impact.
Elliott set up Diaz to make it 2-1 before then crossing for Nunez to head home number three.
Two assists in 45 minutes made this a pretty successful outing for Elliott, who has now been praised by teammate Andy Robertson.
The Reds left back told LFC TV that he felt Elliott was simply ‘different class’ with his second-half performance, believing that he just seems to make an impact whenever given a chance.

Robertson added that Elliott was ‘excellent’ against Burnley and praised his attitude, contributing to a ‘full squad effort’ as Liverpool got back to winning ways.
“The last couple of weeks I’ve been coming off the bench and it’s not easy, but Harv always seems to make an impact. I thought he was different class in the second half,” said Robertson.
“He took the game by the scruff of the neck, started creating things, started ticking us over. He was excellent the wee man so fair play to him. His attitude’s always spot on, he always gives his all for this team and that’s what we need, it’s a full squad effort,” he added.
Elliott saw Liverpool add four new midfielders over the summer as Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch all arrived.
All four have either impressed or at least had their moments this season but Elliott continues to make an impact and certainly hasn’t faded away despite the mounting competition.
£4.3million for Elliott seemed like a bargain at the time and certainly does now, with the former Fulham talent kicking on this season and making himself a reliable impact player for Klopp.
