Piers Morgan has said that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should sell Eddie Nketiah in the summer transfer window.

The Arsenal fan and TV personality has named another player that the Gunners should get rid of in the summer of 2024.

So, what has Piers Morgan said about Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah? Let’s take a look.

Arsenal told to sell Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz

Piers Morgan has said that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should get rid of Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz.

The TV personality and Arsenal fan thinks that Arsenal would get £100 million by offloading striker Nketiah and midfielder Havertz and then use that money to sign a top-class striker in the summer of 2024.

Morgan said on talkSPORT:: “I can find them the money. Sell Havertz, right. I like Nketiah, but I don’t think he is up to it in the big games. You can probably get £30-£40 million for him. So, there is your £100 million.”

My View: Easier to sell Eddie Nketiah than Kai Havertz

This is not the first time that Piers Morgan has called for Arsenal to offload Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz to invest in a new and expensive striker.

The problem is that the transfer market does not work that way. Just because Morgan thinks that Arsenal should sell Havertz for £60 million does not mean that another club would be willing to pay that much for the Germany international.

If Arsenal did indeed want to cash in on Nketiah at the moment, there is no guarantee that they will get £30 or £40 million for him. After all, the 24-year-old striker, described as a “remarkable” player with an “incredible” mentality by Arteta, has scored just 19 goals and given only five assists in 110 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

I think that Arsenal will find it easier to move on Nketiah than sell Havertz in the summer transfer window. After all, the Gunners signed the latter only in the summer of 2023 and manager Mikel Arteta keeps on playing him.

Havertz has made 15 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season. The Germany international has scored four goals and given one assist in those games. He has also scored one goal in five starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
