Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given his verdict on the performance of Gabriel Martinelli against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta has noted how Martinelli put Liverpool under pressure and has raved about the 22-year-old Brazil international winger.
So, what has Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said about Gabriel Martinelli? Let’s take a look.
Gabriel Martinelli stars for Arsenal vs Liverpool
Well, Arsenal beat Liverpool 3-1 on Sunday, and one of the best players on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium was Gabriel Martinelli.
Martinelli scored in the second half and was a constant threat against the Liverpool defence. Michael Owen was hugely impressed.

The 22-year-old’s pace was very threatening, and he also linked up well with his fellow attacking players. Piers Morgan thought that the Brazil international was Arsenal’s best player in the match.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has raved about Martinelli and has noted how he made a difference against Liverpool.
Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about Martinelli: “I think he looks again really confident, really sharp, he was a real threat today not only for the goal that he scored and how intuitive and cheeky and streetwise he was to do what he did, but as well Leo.”
My View: Gabriel Martinelli back in form for Arsenal
In my opinion, Gabriel Martinelli is back in form for Arsenal now. The Brazil international winger is scoring goals and is playing well at the moment.
Martinelli scored twice against Crystal Palace and found the back of the net against Liverpool.
The 22-year-old has scored five goals and given two assists in 19 Premier League starts for Arsenal this season.
The Brazil international winger has scored two goals and provided one assist in three UEFA Champions League matches for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this campaign.
Martinelli’s numbers are not great, but he is looking very confident now and is making a difference with his pace, running and linking up.
Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season and also progress far into the UEFA Champions League. Martinelli will play his role.
