HITC understands Tottenham Hotspur have beaten Spanish giants Barcelona to Swedish starlet Lucas Bergvall.
HITC revealed early on Thursday that Spurs had made a late bid, matching Barca’s £8million offer to Djurgarden, to land the 17-year-old – who is considered one of the top young players in Europe.

Barcelona have been courting Bergvall for months and he seemingly had his heart set on a move to La Masia.
Having spent the week in Catalonia and London, Barca were confident they had a deal all but sealed – but Tottenham have persuaded Bergvall and his family that his future is best served in North London.
Long-term deal
Bergvall is now due in the capital on Friday and is expected to complete his deal over the weekend with terms on a five-year deal already agreed.
Bergvall will then finish the season with Djurgarden before linking up with Tottenham in the summer.
The landing of Bergvall is just the latest success Tottenham have had in landing some of the world’s top young talent.
Top talent
In the summer they also landed 16-year-old Croatian defender Luka Vuskovic and Argentine striker Alejo Veliz.
Whilst landing Bergvall this week – Spurs have also organised short-term loans for both Vuskovic and Veliz.
Vuskovic is joining Polish side Radomiak Radom from Hajduk to gain first-team experience, whilst Veliz has joined Spanish outfit Sevilla for the rest of the season.
