Tottenham Hotspur ace James Maddison has mocked Neal Maupay on Instagram after beating Brentford 3-2 on Wednesday night.

Tottenham were looking to pick up a win over Brentford on Wednesday night but fell behind to a scrappy Neal Maupay goal.

Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson and Richarlison all found the net after the break to flip the game on its head, scoring three times in eight minutes to leave Spurs 3-1 up.

Ivan Toney gave Brentford hope by making it 3-2, but Tottenham saw the game out to claim all three points in a game which certainly had an edge.

James Maddison mocks Neal Maupay on social media after Tottenham win

Maupay was in prime Neal Maupay mood; attempting to wind up opposition players.

The Frenchman scored the opener and replicated James Maddison’s darts celebration in front of the Tottenham fans.

Maddison wasn’t too impressed as Brentford players came back towards the centre circle, with the pair clashing ahead of the restart.

Tottenham players didn’t let that moment go though as both Johnson and Richarlison did the darts celebration too.

Maddison and Tottenham had the last laugh with all three points and the Spurs playmaker took to social media to hammer it home.

Maddison posted a photo of Maupay’s celebration and then a photo of Maddison himself celebrating, adding a three-word message – ‘a short story’ – poking fun at Maupay as Spurs celebrate another win.

Teammates Johnson, Bryan Gil and Pedro Porro were loving Maddison’s response and there was even a reply from darts sensation Luke Littler, who stated ‘yes sirrrr’ having seen Maddison have the last laugh.

Littler may be a Manchester United fan but he has struck up a friendship with Maddison and even came to watch a Tottenham game recently having taken the world by storm in recent weeks.

Maupay has even posted on social media himself, poking fun at his own celebration by saying ‘went a bit early with that one’ before taking a real jab at Maddison.

‘More goals and less relegations in my career than James Maddison’ stated Maupay, who seemingly isn’t letting this mini-feud end after Brentford left North London empty-handed.
